The newly unveiled 2026 BYD Atto 3 facelift has taken the electric vehicle market by storm, securing over 1,000 bookings within 10 days of its Asia-Pacific regional debut. Driven by the introduction of a high-performance Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Premium variant that delivers 313 hp and up to 600 km of range, this milestone replicates the vehicle’s historic 2022 launch success and solidifies its crown as a dominant force in modern electric mobility.

The Electric Crown Defended: How the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Reached a Historic Milestone
When BYD first introduced the Atto 3 in 2022, it completely shifted the regional EV landscape. Now, fast forward to 2026, and history is repeating itself with absolute precision. Unveiled officially at the recent Sime Motors MotorExpo, the heavily upgraded 2026 BYD Atto 3 facelift has crossed the monumental milestone of 1,000 bookings in just 10 days.
This rapid commercial traction proves that consumer confidence in electric mobility isn't just growing—it is skyrocketing. Drivers are no longer viewing EVs as secondary city runabouts; they are demanding them as primary, high-performance daily drivers.
The Game Changer: The New RWD Premium Variant
While the entry-level 'Ultra' variant remains a solid, reliable front-wheel-drive commuter, the massive influx of new orders is being spearheaded by the newly engineered RWD Premium variant. BYD listened to performance enthusiasts and completely overhauled the powertrain mechanics:
| Feature | 2026 Atto 3 Ultra (FWD) | 2026 Atto 3 Premium (RWD) |
| Power Output | 204 hp (150 kW) | 313 hp (230 kW) |
| Torque | 310 Nm | 380 Nm |
| 0–100 km/h Sprint | 7.3 seconds | 5.5 seconds |
| Battery Pack | 60.48 kWh Blade Battery | 74.88 kWh Blade Battery |
| Maximum Range | Up to 420 km (WLTP) | Up to 600 km (NEDC) / 510 km (WLTP) |
| DC Fast Charging | Up to 110 kW | Up to 220 kW |
Faster, Further, Smarter Architecture
The architectural upgrades on the Premium variant add a staggering 109 horsepower over its predecessor, alongside a 90 km boost in pure WLTP driving range.
Furthermore, charging anxiety is effectively eliminated with the updated electrical network. The Premium variant now supports 220 kW DC ultra-fast charging. Drivers can plug in, grab a coffee, and get back on the road faster. Both variants also preserve the highly praised Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, transforming your SUV into a mobile power bank capable of running external electrical appliances up to 3.3 kW.
"Today’s drivers want a smooth mix of advanced safety, smart cabin connectivity, and everyday usability," said Jacob Ma. He is the Managing Director of BYD Malaysia. He spoke at an event honoring the 1,000th booking customer.
With an extensive corporate ecosystem backing the launch—including dozens of dedicated sales hubs, advanced aftersales facilities, and factory-certified technicians—BYD isn't just selling a flagship product; they are offering an airtight ownership experience. Backed by a reassuring 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, the 2026 Atto 3 has successfully defended its title as the ultimate electric crossover of its segment.
