The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that Karachi Division will continue to experience hot and humid weather conditions over the coming days, although temperatures are expected to remain below 40°C.

According to the latest advisory, the weather on Tuesday is expected to stay hot and humid, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37°C and 39°C. Similar conditions are expected on Wednesday (May 6) and Thursday (May 7), with temperatures likely to remain between 36°C–38°C and 35°C–37°C respectively.

PMD further stated that most parts of Sindh will continue to experience hot to very hot and dry weather during this period.

Earlier, Karachi recorded its highest temperature since 2018, reaching 44.1°C. The extreme heat was accompanied by strong continental winds that persisted throughout the day, resulting in at least 10 reported deaths due to heat-related conditions.

Despite the record-breaking temperature, the “feels-like” heat remained below extreme levels due to relatively low humidity, which stood at around 17%.

Meteorological officials noted that the temperature is expected to gradually decrease from Tuesday onwards as dry winds weaken and more stable atmospheric conditions develop.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued emergency guidelines and placed hospitals on alert across the country in response to ongoing extreme summer conditions.

Authorities continue to urge citizens to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
